Our strength lies in the renovation and conversion of existing buildings. Often, small, targeted interventions are sufficient to achieve a major impact. Since different components of a house have different life cycles – a building around 100 years, the interior design around 15 years – it becomes clear how important it is to treat existing structures with care. Renovation opens up a wide range of interior design possibilities: from sensitive refreshes to the complete conversion of a house or even a change of use. Every conversion in Basel requires careful planning. The existing structure brings with it not only technical constraints, but above all spatial conditions that must be harmonized with the new requirements. This results in unique spatial solutions with character – a symbiosis of existing features and new function. Whether it's a house conversion or transforming an industrial hall into modern living spaces, studios, or catering areas – every step in the conversion or renovation process requires a delicate touch. The structural changes are allowed to remain visible, while load-bearing elements such as high ceilings, large windows and characteristic columns are deliberately preserved – they give the place its identity.
Especially in an urban environment like the Basel redevelopment, the reuse of high-quality building materials becomes a guiding principle. As interior designers, we strive every day to harmonize the existing with the new – sustainably, thoughtfully, and with a future-oriented approach.
